Brooklyn-based artist and activist Ruthie Doyle was born in San Antonio, Texas. She attended the International School of the Americas and North East School of the Arts, and received a Bachelor's Degree from Sarah Lawrence College (studying public health with a focus on gender/sexuality, and new genres performance). This actress-turned-(performance) artist/freelancing technology addict most recently studied electronic music production. In the summer of 2008, Ruthie will begin her Master’s studies in Interactive Telecommunications (multimedia) at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts (in the Graduate Division of the Kanbar Institute of Film & Television).

 
     
She has created and participated in various projects, including project/artist documentation, music videos, party visuals, promotional and informational videos, a documentary, as well as her own videos, music and photography. Little known facts: Ruthie studied violin for more than 10 years and interned at a recording studio in 1997, working as a production assistant on the ADR for Ethan Hawke's charcater in Alfonso Cuarón's Great Expectations.
 

Ruthie owns and works with a Panasonic DVX100 and Final Cut, as well as a Canon EOS digital still camera, the Adobe Creative Suite and various digital audio workstations (DAWs) including Ableton Live, ProTools, Reason and Logic.

   
 

Ruthie also advocates for labor and human rights, as well as for better public health policies domestically and abroad, especially as related to gender and sexual rights. She has worked with numerous community organizations and also trained with BirthFocus as a labor support doula, studied Creative Arts Therapy with a focus on Drama Therapy and gained further health counseling training and experience at Gay Men's Heath Crisis (GMHC-"first in the fight against AIDS").
